Are stainless steel water bottles made in China really safe? Especially in light of the latest cadmium scare.?

I’ve read that stainless steel water bottles are not monitored or tested by a third party. So…could the factories out of China be using all sorts of unsafe metals to produce stainless steel water bottles? I think that all stainless steel water bottles are currently produced in China.

The only reason the lead and cadmium was found in the childrens products was because of third- party testing, but they were used for some period time by respected American toy manufacturers such as Mattel before it all came to light. Could it be the same from supposedly ‘safe’ stainless steel water bottles?

This scare is directly related to childrens’ jewlery. To answer your question about water bottles being safe and tested? Yes, there are a few companies like Cynergreen that have all of their bottles independly tested on a continual basis to make sure they are made from the highest quality materials and complately safe for consumers. Please research the company you are buying water bottles from. Make sure the company specializes in stainless steel water bottles and not just selling any product they can find.
In regards to the first persons answer that anything that comes from China is unsafe is completly wrong. Have you looked around your home? Your silverware, plates, furnature, cookware, writing instrments and much more all come from China. Without China’s ability to supply these items at a low cost, we would not have the creature comforts we are used to. The solution is to make yourself aware of the companies you are purchasing from. Ask them is they test the products they sell.
