My 3- year old son wants to sleep in his tent… Is that ok?
My son was having a hard time transitioning to sleeping in his room so one night we went “camping” in his room with his toddler tent to show him his room wasn’t scary. Now he refuses to sleep anywhere else. Just wondering what everybody elses opinion on this was. Should I let him sleep there to get used to it or should I take it down and move him to his bed?
Sure, let him sleep in the tent. What’s the harm? He’ll grow out of it very soon, and then it’ll just be this transition thing that you did for him. But for him, it’ll be an adventure. It’ll be camping, just like mommy/daddy do. You can tell him all about camping, and what you do when you go camping. You can tell him about fishing/hiking/the woods/s’mores/barbecue etc.
Not only will it help him transition, but it’ll also teach him a thing or two about camping. Three year olds have very very vivid imaginations, so it’ll be a great learning experience for him.
