During gameplay, players will assume the role of an invisible hand that controls a slingshot and hurl various birds at the structures where the green enemy pigs are hiding, as the game progresses, different powered up birds can be used to get through the ever improving defensive structures of the pigs, special objects that may be used to help defeat the enemy are also placed on the field to tickle the imaginations of the players even more.

Because the game is so popular, it did not take long before the demand prompted the game developers to create different versions of the game for different game consoles like the PC and handheld gaming devices. Currently, the creators of the game are working on their biggest project yet, the angry birds flash game on Facebook, and beta versions are expected to come out in April of 2011.
