The Many Possibilities of the Silk Shawl

When you think of a shawl, most think of a garment thrown off the shoulders, but the silk shawl has many possibilities. Take a look at the many different ways you can wear your silk shawl.

Elbow wrap style – For this clean and simple look you place the wrap across your shoulder so the ends fall down in the front. Let the shawl fall off your shoulders and gather at the elbows if you want an impressive effect. This look is more for fashion than warmth, but it looks great.

Scarf style – Although a simple style, it will keep your neck warm on those cool evenings. You simply wrap the width of the shawl around your neck and let the ends flow down your shoulders.

Cape style – This is very easy and quick. You simply throw the ends of the wrap over your shoulder, bring the ends around the front, and tie them. This looks great for dressing up or a casual look.

Wrap style – Drape over the upper part of your body, have the ends cross in the front, and meet in the back and tie. This looks sort of like a cropped sweater wrap.

A skirt – Sounds a bit strange, but you can use a silk wrap like a sarong and have an adorable skirt. You can wear it over jeans or leggings for a cool and relaxed look.

Shrug look – Wrap your scarf over the shoulders and arms, bring the ends back, and tie them. This looks great with a fitted shirt or a mini dress.
