How can I get my cat to stop shredding paper?
She started out playing with the TP roll. She watches the gerbils chew up paper boxes all day, and now she totally shreds any paper she gets. It is not only a mess, bur she has even destroyed some mail etc.
I think she is imitating the gerbils.
She’s bored & needs to play. Shredding paper rids her of her excess energy, plus it’s fun for her! One of my cats loves shredding sheets of newspaper. Play with her more & keep any important documents out of her reach! For the poster who said declaw her – get a life! Would you chop a child’s fingers off if it ripped up a letter!? You’re barbaric!
