How do we get Regwah in print?

theres an ability to “be the bird” and some way kool captures there,

Reg, you could write articles (500 – 1000 words) about the species of bird, the place where you shot the images, the ecological aspects of the bird’s existence, et cetera, and submit the COPYRIGHTED article and photos to magazines culled from the Photographer’s Market Guide. I bet you could get published and PAID. If you can’t or don’t like to write, team up with someone. Split the money on the articles and you both get famous. Work it by asking the editors what they need and go out and get it. Editors love completed articles with pix delivered, ready to print, to their desks.

Start building your stock portfolios – by subject. Taxological names on all flowers, plants (call this portfolio botany), Animals in another portfolio – again all taxological names will be required. Use them in the tags and in the meta data so they are searchable. If you email me I will help you with more specific info.

The Geographic mags get so much unsolicited material they don’t even look at it. The best photo in the world could be in their junk piles, but they will never see it. They have to know you (your work) or you must be introduced to be taken seriously there. They also are known for “borrowing” ideas, paying less than market rate, and demanding full copyright to any images they print (at least the American National Geo does.) So you might want to consider other magazines and let the prestige one come to you.

Like all things worth having, this takes time and work.
