parrot help?

they say alexandrine parakeets are clever and good talkers picking up words and sounds very fast.
I have had my alexandrine parakeet for a year now i am not sure how old he is but i know hes over 3 years old as he has the ring around his neck.
he still cant say words very clearly or pick them up very fast
He keeps repeating the same sounds that kind of sound like words if you listen hard.
i have watched videos on youtube of alexandrines talking and the way they act, mine seems to very different then them.
he sits on his playstand and seems to stare at the wall and scream at the seagulls
he has a big cage lots of toys, playstand, 5 fruits and veg a day along with parrot mix seeds.
i spend lots of time talking and playing games with him every day. can some parrots be backwards

The truth is the parrots are not all alike and generalization doesn’t do them justice. Not all parrots will talk and not all are playful or loving. I’ve seen African Grey who picked up everything owner said but I’ve seen African Greys that only utter noises. Your Alexandrine may never talk well and you may need to accept that and just continue to love him. I do think you’re on the right track taking good care of him. Just continue to talk to him, play with him and love him.
