Are Parakeets hard to take care of and train?

My six year old daughter has always been fasinated with birds and she asked for one around christmas but I said no. Its been 6 moths now and she still is intrigued by them. I HEARD parakeets are very easy to train and handle, is that true? Is it best to get a baby bird or does it matter as far as handling goes? I had finches as a chld, are parakeets the same?

Parakeets are great pets especially for young ones,

I got my first budgie at age 7 and loved it with my whole heart,

He became my best friend,

And I can guarantee your daughter will love one too!

Budgies make Wonderful pets….

-Are inexpensive

-Easy to care for

-Are trainable

-Come in many gorgeous colours

-Family birds

-No experience needed!

If you want a tame parakeet I suggest you buy a ‘hand fed’ or ‘university trained’ one,

These birds are already tamed

So you won’t have any hassles trying to train it,

Which at times can be quite difficult,

especially if you have a daughter who will want to play with her new pet right away.

Finches and Parakeets are quite different,

Finches are more for looks and their singing,

Whereas budgies are typically a miniature parrot.
