can lovebirds and parakeets be in the same cage together?

see my moms friend is giving away lovebirds and that they will be ready in a week so we have parakeets though and my mother was wondering can they be in the same cage together:] thanks!

NO! Never mix lovebirds and parakeets together in the same cage. Lovebirds can be very aggressive towards the parakeets and end up injuring or killing them. Plus, you’d scare the poor parakeets very much. A lovebird is much bigger than a parakeet and can do a great deal of damage to the much smaller parakeet. This will usually happen when you’re not around. You certainly don’t want to find any dead parakeets in your cage, so please don’t house the two different species together. As for the lovebirds, make sure their cage is secure. Lovebirds are known as escape artists and can easily get out of an unsecure cage.
