My parakeet’s egg for some reason is on the bottom of the cage and not in the nest, what happened?

Recently, my parakeets have been digging in this wood thing I bought for them to have eggs and everything, but for some reason, I found an egg at the bottom of the cage and not inside the nest. What should I do? Do I pick it up and put it back in?

You need to throw it away. Our love birds did this when the egg was bad. The vet told us that is normal. (They just know)
Just like a cat when she has a kitten that is going to die she will put it away from the others.
