African Grey and Macaw?
I currently own an African Grey and am thinking of getting a Macaw. What I’m wondering is if the size/species difference will cause any problems?
I own a Grey and two macaws. You can not keep them in the same cage. Not unless they were raised together as babies. They are both very territorial and will not take lightly to sharing a cage with another species. I also work with just about any bird you can think of every day. Now if you have them in separate cages, you are ok. You may have a few shouting matches now and then. (actually you will have that if all you had was the macaw) Just remember macaws are very loud. Not that they make any more noise than other birds, they are just a lot louder. Please read my profile. Also remember to quarantine the new bird in a different room for 14 days.
