What makes a better friendly family pet, a lovebird or a parrotlet? How are they different from each other?

They are both family friendly birds. The parrotlets are smaller than the lovebirds. You could go for how pretty you want them. Parrotlets are pretty but only come in a few colors, but love birds come in a variety of colors. I think the Fischers are very pretty. But the parrotlets have a better tendency to talk where as the lovebirds don’t. It is basically your preference, but they both would make good family pet! Hope I helped!

Lovebird $78.07 A Lovebird is one of nine species of the genus Agapornis. They are a social and affectionate small parrot. Eight species are native to the African continent, while the Greyheaded Lovebird is native to Madagascar. Their name stems from the parrots strong, monogamous pair bonding and the long periods in which paired birds will spend sitting together. Lovebirds live in small flocks and eat fruit, vegetables, grasses and seed. Blackwinged Lovebirds also eat insects and figs, and the Blackcollared Lovebirds have a special dietary requirement for native figs, making them problematic to keep in captivity. Some species are kept as pets, and several color mutations were selectively bred in aviculture. Their average lifespan is 10 to 15 years. They were originally discovered in the late 19th century, and were first bred in the United States in 1926.
