Why is there a crescent on the Temple Mount instead of a cross?
If the Temple Mount is inside Israel now, why don’t the Jews take down the crescent and rightly put up the cross?
The Temple has been demolished, so the Jews have little interest in the place except historically, since the conditions for rebuilding are not met. they make do with the Western (Lamentation) Wall. Plus, given the large muslim population of Jerusalem, the importance of Al Aqsa moque and the Dome of the Rock in islam and in light of past experience, they know they can’t touch them.
BTW, the Jews would never put up a cross anywhere, it’s a symbol of what they regard as a heresy, since they regard Jesus as not having fulfilled the prophecies for recognizing Mashiach.
The top of Temple mount is a mosque complex under muslim control, hence the crescent.
As for a cross, the Christians are much more interested in OTHER places in Jerusalem, they have pretty little interest in establishing churches there, the I think the Al Aqsa mosque was made into one when the crusaders ruled there… of course, it has had more than 600 years to be reconsecrated as a mosque and enlarged.
