Budgie not drinking water???
I got a budgie two days ago and it’s pretty settled in. I can get it on my hand (unless it’s in the happy hut…) and it has been playing a lot with his toys and jumping from perch to perch. Also it’s been eating but I didn’t see it drinking any water. It’s poo looks normal so I’m not really worried. I’m just wondering are you supposed to see your budgie drinking water often?
Budgies will drink water.. Dont worry he probably is drinking water! If you are really that worried then monitor him for a whiile. Also, you have only had him for 2 days now. It takes alot more than 2 days for a bird to settle in and get used to its surroundings. It takes about a month or 2 for them to get fully settled in. (most birds take a day or 2 to actually start eating once you have just gotten them)
If hes playing with his toys and moving around the cage and looks happy then there should be nothing to worry about. If he was sick or dehidrated he you would notice a change in personality eg. he wouldnt chirp, move around alot, or even attempt to eat.
So u shouldnt be too worried about it! If you notice a the signs that i have mentioned above, then it would be a good idea to watch him for a while. Always encourage him to drink water by cleaning and providing fresh water every day.
By the way budgies are really awesome birds to have! So im sure you will enjoy having him as a pet….
