Worried About my iguana..?
I got my iguana a week ago from today,
and he still hasn’t eaten on his own, i offer him foods everyday such as mangos, watercress and sometimes spinach, this is really making me worried, i really dont know what else to do .. i just upgraded from a 44 gallon hexagon shaped tank to a 50 gallon 4 foot long tank yesterday, i was hoping this would help the problem, but i need opinions from other people . The temp in his cage is about 90-92 degrees, i have a uvb bulb and a basking light . but its probably around 70-75 degrees in spots on the other side of the cage away from the basking spot.
am i doing something wrong ? should i give him more time ?

You have asked many, many questions about your new iguana. Thank you for trying to make sure you are doing right by him. Your temps sound ok, even though away from the basking light it should be warmer (in the 80s). However, your tank is too small. I know he is a baby but glass tanks are never a good choice for an ig. Also, a long tank is a poor choice. It needs to be vertically oriented with ledges or branches for him to climb on and bask on. Many people who own iguanas build their own enclosures; otherwise you have to buy a viv for him, which can be very expensive.
EDIT: Also, take your ig to a herp vet to get its fecal checked for parasites. Its just a good idea to get him weighed and examined so you have a baseline on his health.
