Why does my budgie keep standing on one foot?
He doesn’t seem in distress, he’s playful today..
But for a couple days lately, he’s been playing with his toys for the first time, then leaning over to the right and raising his left foot.
Every time I notice he does this, he keeps getting closer to the bar. Earlier, he was nearly parallel to his perch.
Is he just being silly?
I thought about the perch, but he has a rope perch too that he never uses.. I’m working on a few branch perches, but they’re rather expensive around here.
It might be a perch problem – ideally you should have several different sizes of perches in his cage so he can rest & exercise his feet. birds are on their feet 24/7 they need several sizes & types of perches to rest on.
If there is any indication of an injury take to the avian vet.
