Why did my hamster kill my mouse?
They have been in the same cage (big and roomy) since May 2008 she raised him and they never had any problems. At first they lived in a 10gallon tank with top but since they kept getting out they were moved into a larger cage with shelf and a lot of room and they’ve been in it ever since then they had to be moved to my dads with a bunch of animals there. When my dad moved they went to the farm with him and lived out in the barn. Then recently I went to visit my dad and got them to bring back with me out of state they were ok on the car ride. Then about a month later (2 days before Christmas) he was dead in the cage I can tell that it was her that did it (it was very obvious by the looks). Could it be them moving so much? They’ve been in the same cage since a few months after May 08 and they’d always cuddle in the little pink hut. The water bottle was completely full and so was their bowl. What could have made her do it?

Different species of rodents are enemies by nature, territorial issues are why the mouse was killed and hamsters hate mice as well.
Hamster may either be ready to mate, be pregnant, or be severely under fed because the mouse may be preventing it from eating or the mouse may be eating the hamsters food stores, many hamsters store food in the bedding in their cages for later and the mouse may have went for the food and gotten killed for it.
