is my cockatoo happy or has he had enough?
my cockatoo is a happy bird. he talks, whistles, loves new people, waves, and does lots of other awesomely amazing things he will even preen my hair sometimes. he also LOVES it when we hold or preen him. he is such a cuddle bug.and amazingly, he doesn’t scream at all.but sometimes when we are cuddling, if i walk in the room, or when i am preening him he will chatter his beak and make this wheezing/ slight hissing sound. he doesn’t seem mad when he does it though. he normally does it when we are cuddling and he has his head agnst my chest and and his eyes are closed. he seems really relaxed. does it mean he is happy or does it mean that he has had enough? i heard that when they chatter their beaks it means their happy, but what does the wheezing mean? before we got him, he was in a home with smokers. he is now in a room with a humidifier because it makes it easier for him to breath because his lungs are damaged. is that why he wheezes a little? thanks! =D
Yes! his lungs are all jacked from the idiots that smoked… stupid tobacco @#$%^. anyway- i have a cukatoo too and he hates anybody and he’s scared all the time, but when they’re teeth chatter that means he likes you, and the wheezing is from his lung problem due to the tobacco @#$%^. He hasn’t had enough don’t worry & the humidifier helps! He’ll bite when he’s had enough!
