Would it be okay to have a larger swing for my keets?

I bought all of my parakeet supplies today and when I got home I noticed I got a sand perch swing sized for cockatiels and similar sized birds. I will eventually have two parakeets. Would this swing work just fine since there will now be room for both or will they not be able to swing on it? Also, do carriers need perches (our didnt come with one)?
why would i not have him as a companion bird? i am going to tame one first but want to get him a friend eventually because i am at school during daytime

Well you have too see put it in the cage and see if your bird likes it and can swing if he cant take it out and get a smaller one then when you get your new bird put the big one back in a nd see if they both swing on it.If not proceed to put the smaller one back in. Hope i helped!!!
