Is this common among Green Cheek Conures?

I have a little under a year old GCC and he sweet, and healthy, and playful, but whenever it’s bedtime, instead of being on his rope perch or as petco likes to call it Booda Comfy Perch, and up against his Cozy(the fuzzy cloth thing that birds can snuggle up against) he will climb on his cage bars, and rest behind the cozy, not even perching on the rope.

So is this normal, does he hate the rope perch? Is it too hard for his feet or uncomfortable? Should I change his perch and/or cozy to something else and if so could someone give me an example? Any advice would be great

This is normal. Conures require a “den” to call their own at night. Mine sleeps in a happy hut every single night, sometimes even on his back which is just too funny Conures are notorious for this and I bet if you bought one, your bird might too! BTW, a happy hut is made out of the same material as a “cozy”, but is a triangular tent that hangs from the cage. They usually like it hung towards the corner or side of the cage
