Red Parrot cichlids ill. Please help! T^T?

My father and I keep fish as a hobby but lately our nine parrot cichlids have lot their appetit and one is turning black-ish. The fish seems to be suffering the most right now because it’s belly seems bloated and there are little indents in the scalles and tiny little white strand near the head. It can’t swim right and is always jerking around. Other cichlids in the tank are showing a few of the same symptoms but is not as bad. Out tank is 55 gallons, filtered, and contains one silver arowana, a plec, 9 red parrot cichlids and several live goldfish as food for the arowana.

sounds like poor wate rconditions. drospys…drospys is a sytpom in which the internal organs shut down and it causes fuilds to build up which casues the scales to stick up and the fish to be bloated.

if it is dropy, it is 95% fatal as you have to find away to restart the organs.

What type of filteration .. .as your tank is seriously overstock which leads to poor water quality.

Silver arowanas need at east 300 gallons when they are adults. a 40+ inch fish cant turn in usually anthing smaller than 300 gallons.

Thats what bothers me the most, your overstocked and the silver arowana is in my opition suffering due to stunting. Arowanas in their first year of life have one of the fastest growth rates of all fishes, in there first year they should be at least 12-14 inches.
